Tomorrow’s People consultants have many decades of experience and diverse backgrounds in the primary areas of law, human resources, higher education, leadership development, community affairs, media and government relations, organization development, corporate communications, corporate philanthropy, and team building.

Principal Team Members

Charles L. Greene, President, Tomorrow’s People, is Emeritus Vice President for Human Resources at Kent State University; Attorney at Law, M.S.W., Community Organization Specialist; and Associate Professor of Social Work. Throughout his career, he has served on numerous boards, including Board Chair of the Portage County Community Action Council. Other relevant experiences include serving as Chair of the Akron Urban League, Member of the Magnet Task Force in the Akron School District, Board Member for the Area Agency on Aging, Board Member of Goodwill Industries and United Way Board Member for both Summit County and Portage Counties in Ohio.

Sally A. Kandel, Ph. D., Executive Vice President, Tomorrow’s People, is Emeritus Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs Operations and Administration in the Academic Affairs Division of Kent State University. Sally has held a number of administrative positions over her 26 years at Kent State. She holds three degrees from Kent State University, including a Ph. D. in Organization Development. She has also been providing consulting services and leadership development programs for not-for-profit organizations since 1991.

David L. Kandel, Vice President for External Relations and Marketing. Over his 34-year corporate career, David has developed expertise in sales, marketing, public affairs, media relations, community and government affairs, corporate philanthropy, issue-management, strategic planning & visioning, and business advocacy. He has held multiple board positions with numerous not-for-profit organizations in central Ohio.

Marlene Dorsey, Ph. D. served as Dean of the College of Continuing Studies at Kent State University for 19 years until her retirement on February 1, 2008. She was also a tenured Associate Professor in the department of Teaching, Leadership, and Curriculum Studies in the College and Graduate School of Education, Health and Human Services. She has a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Kent State University.

Melinda Holmes, Ph. D. worked at Kent State University for 28 years, before retiring in 2008. As Assistant Director for Public Administration and Public Policy, she has coordinated numerous training, technical assistance, and research projects. Her clients included local government elected and appointed officials, and boards and staff of not-for-profit organizations. Prior to coming to Ohio in 1977, Dr. Holmes, a native of North Carolina, worked for the Guilford County Economic Opportunity Council (EOC) as Neighborhood Center Director; for the Model City Commission as Citizen Participation Coordinator (both in High Point, NC); and as Coordinator of Human Resource/Service agencies in the Community Development Department, City of High Point.  Dr. Holmes holds a BA in English from UNC-Greensboro; a Master's in Public Administration and a Ph. D. in Organization Development, both from Kent State University.

Affiliate Team Members

Holly Hollingsworth is the director of Public Affairs for AT&T Ohio and has extensive experience in the areas of broadcast journalism, political science, and media relations. She has held senior positions in the communications organizations of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, the Ohio Board of Regents, and the Ohio Treasurer’s Office. She has helped many clients manage media relations programs and crisis communications plans through her consulting work. Holly served as an on-air news anchor and reporter for WCMH NBC 4 in Columbus. She has also held news anchor, reporter, and producer positions with television stations in Cleveland and Toledo.

Debra Green is the former Vice President for Social Responsibility and the Chief Diversity Officer for Medical Mutual of Ohio where she managed the development and execution of all community relations programs. She served as the Company’s principal corporate representative in community affairs and oversaw the company’s diversity and inclusion strategies. Prior to her position at Medical Mutual, she was the Director of Community Outreach for the Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Center. She holds a B.A. in social work.

Bonita Prewitt, M.B.A. has extensive experience with gender and equity issues. She served as the Director of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at the University of Akron for 12 years. She served as the Gender Equity Director/Title IX Coordinate at Kent State University focusing on sexual harassment and sexual violence prevention for faculty, staff, and students. She also spent 14 years as a Civil Rights Investigator. Her master’s degree is in systems management.
